Thames Rugby Union.

Afc the weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the JRugby Union held at the Salutation Hotel last evening theie were present—Messrs Mangan, A»new, Christie, Greenslade, and the Hou. Secretary, Mr G. E. Buckland. Mr Christie was voied to the chaif. The niinutt-s of the previous meeting having been confirmed and the outward and iuward correspondence read, the Secre- ; tary announced lhat entrances for competitions had been received from the

Rover I. and 11., Thames 1., 11, and 111., Nelson I, Britaunia, and Waitemata. It was resolved that an account of Mr E. Payne's for 7s 6d be passed for payment. With regard to the opening of the season Mr Greenslade proposed, Mr Atjnew seconded, aud it was carried : that the season be opened on Saturday, May 9tb. The time for receiving entries for the various competitions was extended until Wednesday, the 22nd inst. Tue matter of the lease of Dodd's paddock was brought up, and on the motion of Mr Mangau, seconded by Mr Christie, it was resolved that the agreement submitted and amended bfi approved. It was proposed by Mr Agnew and seconded by the Secretory : that a telegram be sent in

reply to a wire from the Wairaate Club statins: that the Union will arrange a match, and asking at the same time what day would be suitable, lliis motion was carried, as also was one to the effect that the telegram, from the Club be handed over to the captains of the three local senior teams, asking them to pick a team if the fixture is duly made. It was decided to call for tenders for pre« paring No. 1 ground at Dodd's paddock, to be receivable up to Monday, the 20th iast., and that a special meeting be held on the evening of that day to consider
