Reply to " Branch Pipe."

(To the Editor of the Thames Star.) j Sin.—lf " Branch Pipe " will take the . trouble to iook up for himself the reports, which appeared in your paper, with regard to the appointment of enginekeeper, he will see that the Council was guarded in not interfering with that appointment, but referred the whole matter back to the Fire Brigade, asking them to make their own choice, and send it in to the Borough Council for them to confirm, which they were willing to do. Where any hole and corner work came in I am at a los to see, only in this way : Ti ere was but one man to get it, and somebody is disappointed. But I hope when "Branch Pipe" or any t/ther pipe « rites again to try to belie auy<ne he w i 1 do as I have done and sign his name.—l am, &c, Thos. Kadvokd.
