SUICIDE THROUGH DRINK.
[pie preps association.] Waipawa, May 31. Ebenezer Gray, Secretary to the Waipawa County Racing Club, Clerk to the Kaikora Town -Coav.l and the Patangata Ro:id Board, 'committed suicide by taking strychnine. He had just applied for a renewal of a prohibition order against himself. He left a letter indicating that drink and gamlj b'ng had led to his ruin and that death was preferable to prison, from which it is inferred that he was in financial trouble.
