'■Wellington, Tiis day. ' 4: Eeplyiog to Mr J. W. Kelly last evening Mr Seddon said that if Sir E. Sir E. Stout said the charges he made would be found in his speech in Hansard. Mr Seddon moved the second reading of the Criminal Code Act Amendment Bill, to raise the age of consent to^ 16 years, which was agreed to without debate.

i Mr Seddon also moved the second reading of the School Attendance Bill, making more stringent provisions for the compulsory attendance of children at school, and it was agreed to.
