The weather was splendid, and there was an enormous attendance at the cricket match which began at the Oval to-day between the Australians and All England. W. Giffen, Conningham, and Jams stand out of the colonial team. Flowers could not play for England, and "W. W. Eead wrs selected in his place. An excellent wicket WP3 provided, and the ground wes in first rate order, so that the conditions were all favorable to heavy scoring. The Home team were lucky enough to win the toss, and went m first. The greatest interest is being taken in the match ell over England. The Englishmen made a splendid start, and so far have only lo3t three wickets for 200 rues, Grace making 62, Stoddart 83, Gunn 16. After the first two were disposed of, Gunn and Shrewsbury steadily took the score to 200, when the former retired, the Notts crack being still in. Grace made nine fours, and Stcddert was only batting two hours for his runs, which included eleven fours and six threes. Changes in the bowling were made repeatedly.
