VICTORY FOR MAORILANDERS BY 16 POINTS.

[Pb»88 Association.] Sydney, Saturday night. The final test match between New Zealand and New South Wales was to-day witnessed by 20,000 people, The ground was sodden and muddy from the recent rains. Abbott did not play for tbe local team, and was replaced by Wickham, otherwise the teams were as telegraphed. In the first spell Jefvis potted a goal, and Grey scored a try, which Jervis failed to convert. In the second term the superior weight of the New Zealanders had its effect, and the Home team were continuously on the defensive. Grey, Gage, and Lambie scored tries, bat the attempts cf Jervis, D'Arcy, and Murray to convert were failures. The game thus ended in a win for New Zealand by 16 points to nil. The New Zealand team to a man played a fine game, while for the local team Cobb. Robert, Surman, Hinton, Veitch, and Hiddlestone were the best. No rain fell during the game. Mr McCausland acted as referee. This day. Lambie, Jervis, D'Arcy, Watson, Gray, Ohphant, and W. McKenize played splendidly on Saturday. The game was a forward one throughout. The Daily Telegraph says that under the disadvantage of a greasy ball and a slippery turf the new men played up to their reputation.
