Provincial Grand Lodge, S.C. ! W. McCULLOUGH APPOINTED P.GM. With reference to the cable received yesterday from Bro. D. M. Lyon, Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Scotland, stating that Bro. W. McCullough has been appointed as Provincial Grand Master of the Scotch Constitution in the North Island of New Zealand, in the place of tbe late Sir Frederick Whitaker, it may intercut Masons of the Thames to learn that Bro. McCullough was initiated in Lodge of Light, 454, IC., in 1871, affiliated into Sir Walter Scott Lodge, and was elected W.M. in 1873. In the lame year he wss exalted in Hauraki Chapter, 464, 1.C., and next year was elected First Principal of Abbotsford Chapter. S.C. In 1875 he was appointed Deputy Provincial Grandmaster for New Zealand, aDd held that office until the colony, was divided into two Masonic provinces. He was also elected third Principal in the Provincial Grand Chapter, S.C, and in 1883 became a charter member of Lodge Albion, 2003, E.C. In 1885 Bro. McCullough was admitted a member of the Southern Cross Chapter, Bose Croix, and also held the office of First Principal of Zealandia Boyal Arch Chapter. Next year be was chosen W.M. of Lodge Manukau, E.C, and shortly afterwards wss appointed Deputy Provincial Grand Superintendent of the New Zealand Boyal Arch Chapter, under the Scotch Constitution. In 1890 he was appointed Provincial Grand Master Deputy S.C. by Sir Frederick Whitaker, and has now fitly succeeded to the position of Pro* yincial Grand Master. Bro. McCullough is an enthusiastic Mason, and bis friends will rejoice at the honor accorded him.,
