The man who can't keep up with the procession m this* worid muan't expect 4o enjoy the imi' d i c o f the band. \A hatter you win in life you must conquer oy your own efforts, and then it is yours, a part of yourself. Doth the favors of Fate startle thee ? h ear her frowns yet more. Diogenes called an ignorant rich man a sheep with a golden fleece. Every abridgment of a good book is a foolish abridgment. It is easier to write an indifferent poem than to understand a good one. .. Whoever is disloyal to truth ifl the s&mc to falsehood also.
■It is a good rule lo be deaf when a slanderer begins to talk. - Apply yourself to acquire knowledge than to sbow it. Men commonly taka great pains to exhibit the stock they have* but they take little paint to acquire more!
