TIMARU.—This day.
Mr Bowles, an lon keeper at Temuka, was trying to navigate a canoe on the Opihi lagoon yesterday, when it capsized and he was drowned. The harvest is becoming general. On the drier lands the yield promises to be good. The sparrows are causing great lots.
