The 1" bosses" of eight gangs of men, representing 95 workmen, left the Thames this morning with Mr Vickerman to arrange for the taking up of work on the co-operative principle, and the thanks of the community are certainly due to Mr Cadtnan for his timely inter vention on behalf o? the unemployed of the Thames, as but for this the railway work would most likely have all been taken op by up country residents.
