Captain Jackson Barry.
It is, we are sure, unnessary to remind our readers of the lectnre to be delivered in the Academy of Music to-morrow night by the veteran colonist and lectnrer, Captain W. J. Barry. The subject of the difeoarse, aa previously mentioned, is New Sooth Wales in 1829, Melbourne, in 1835, with particulars of a tour round the world and>n interview in 1879' with the notorious Tichborne claimant. Capt. Barry, as a colonist of 62 years' standing, must have an interesting tale to tell of the early days of Australian colonisation. His lecture has been delivered throughout Australia and the principal countries of Europe, under most distinguished auspices, and the Press notices he has invariably received are of the most flattering character, so that we have do doubt a large audience will assemble in the Academy of > Music to-morrow night. Captain Barry has been rfquested by a number of our leading gentlemen to deliver this lecture before leaving the Thames, and as^.he has consented to do so, there sbonld be a good honse to-morrow night. The Captain has put the prices of admission very low, so as to give every* one a chance of hearing him. The chairs and gallery will be one shilling, and the body of the Hall sixpence, His Worship the Mayor (Mr J. McAndrew) will preside. We are requested to •tate that Captain Barry will, at the close of the lecture, exhibit some tin ore which he has brought from the KiDg Country, and which should prove of interest to miners and others.
