London, September 25. More Nationalist Meetings. Shortly after bis release from prison on bail, O'Brien, who was closely watched by s the authorities, succeeded by a series of elaborate ruses in evading the police, and at once proceeded to address-a meeting of the National League, which Government had proclaimed, but which took place outside Mitchells town. In his speech O'Brien defied the Government. Dr Tanner, MP. for County Cork (Mid.), addressed a meeting of Nationalists yesterday at Fermoy, County Cork. In endeavoring to disperse the gathering, a conflict took place between the police and people, the former freely using their batons, by which fifteen of the crowd were severely injured. The mob retaliated by stoning the police. Pabis, September 25. Outrage on Franco-German Frontier. It has been ascertained that the persons who shot at and wounded the French lieutenant, and at the same time killing the gamekeeper who accompanied him, are owners of German estates on the frontier. They assert that they fired at the Frenchmen believing them to be poachers. The French Government have taken diplomatic action in the matter. Morley Advises PatienceMr John Morley, speaking at New*' castle, accused the Government of shameless betrayal of election pledges. <He said victory was certain if the Irish would be patient. Scenes at O'Brien's Trial. Dr Tanner, M.P., within the precincts of the Court at O'Brien's trial, called counsel for the Crown a ruffianly coward. 'He hoped he would be vilely injured before leaving Mitchelstown. The Bench offered to arrest Tanner if pressed by counsel. The crowd were menacing after O'Brien's release on bail, but the polioe dispersed them, the priests assisting. Lord Randolph JubilantLord Randolph Churchill, speaking at Whitley, was jubilant over the cause of Unionism. He said that the cause of law and order was already won. Mr Glad* stone was responsible for the sessions' obstruction. He condemned the extravagance of the Government and the pension list of six millions. Any early attempt to parchase tho Irish landlords would wreck the Unionists. Dublin Councillors Defy the Government At a meeting in Dublin the Mayor, Gray, and others, defied the Government to suppress the League. Rioting in Germany. Rioting has resumed in Germany. The police were stoned in an attempt to disperse a meeting, using their batons. Morocco In Trouble. j France is claiming an indemnity from Morocco for the assassination of Commander Schmidt.
