Nominations.
Auckland, This day. The Ponsonby nominations were made to-day, and the show of hands was Wright 78, Peacock 57> Cooper 26. A poll was demanded. Wellington, This day. The Ashley nominations were Messrs Pearson, Higgins, and Verrall, the show of hands being in favor of Pearson. Nominations for Wellington East were Messrs Fisher, Robertson, and Carter. The show of hands was largely in favor of Fisher. The proceedings were noisy bat good-tempered. Gbeytown, This day. ■-> The nominations to-day were Messrs W. C. Buchanan and Henry Bunny. The show of hands were—Buchanan 308, Barmy 150. A poll was demanded. Nelson, This day. The, nominations for Nelson were Messrs H. Levestam, W. B. Oibbes, and J. Piper. The show of hands was in favor of Mr Levestam. Lincoln, This day. I The nominations were Messrs Saunders, O'Callaghau, and J. D. Guip. The show of hands was in favor of Saunders. A poll was demanded. Dunedin, Last night. For Clutha the following were the nominations:—J. W. Thompson, and T. MacKenzie. This day. The nominations for Dunedin Central were—Messrs Fiichett and Cargill, the show of hands being largely in favor of Mr Fitchett. At Dunedin West the show of hands was Stewart 24, Dick 30. Considerable feeling was displayed. For South Dunedin, the nominations were Messrs Fish and Gore. The show of hands was overwhelmingly in favor of the former. Nearly 600 persons were present at Dunedin East, when Sir Robert Stoat and Mr Allen were nominated. Both gentlemen made long speeches, and the show of hands was in favor of Mr Allen. The nominations for the Peninsula were : Hon. Mr Larnach and Mr Bigg. Personalities were occasionally strong:, and the show of hands was nearly equal. The Roslyn nominations were Messrs Ross, Carlton, and Hutchison. The show of hands was Carlton, 58; Hutchison, 51; and Ross, 19. Wanganui, This day. Hon. Mr Ballance and Mr Carson were nominated. The show of hands was very greatly in favor of Mr Ballance. Taiebi, Lasf night. The nominations were—J. Fulton, J. Cairnross. The show of hands was equal. j . , Uacoatested SeatsDunedin, This day. For Dunstan, Mr Vincent Pyke was returned unopposed.
