OUR MINES.

CAMBRIA. The bangingwall of the reef in the .winze at No. 3 level was broken down this morning, with the result that the satisfactory haul of 1301bs of specimens was secured, and a fair show of gold left in the bottom. NEW PRINCE IMPEEIAL. A winze has been commenced on No. 1 lode below the intermediate level at the point where the specimens were obtained when driving. About 80ft. will require to be sunk to No s'leveh and this will de> termine the advisability or otherwise of extending the drive at that level and opening up on the reef. CALEDONIAN LOW LEVEL. The leader. recently cut in the south crosscut shows some iumprovement; it is 18 inches wide; and carries nice minerals. The drive has been directed to bear more directly towards the Waiotahi main reef. THAMES GOLDEN CEOWN. The lode recently out at No. 3 level, ' aud supposed to be the shaft leader, im« proves as driven upon towards ihe winze, •olors of gold being seen in it. At No. 2 level, the lode being driven on towards the Darwin has been picked up after a hea»e. At first a body of quartz about 18 inches wide wasfourid, but another body of stone appears to be coming in. Crushing is sharping for a payable return. , v NEW MANUKAU. The reef being worked by the Waiotahi Company reached the above company's boundary in the early part of the week, and since then about 8 feet has been stripped. This was broken down this afternoon, when good dabs of gold were seen through the quartz, and a few pounds of stone obtained, though not good enough to class as picked stone. The leader averages about 6 inches in thickness, and is encased in a*favorable class of sand» stone, BEIGHT SMILE. The only work at present in progress is the leading stope over ;the drive; the averages about 4 inches in thickness, and in breaking down yesterday the manager secured 81bs of picked stone, while gold was also seen freely through the quartz. The drive has been extended for a distance of 60ft, and there are nearly 90ft of backs available on the leader. The face of the present working is within about 20ft of the, former workings carried on by a tribute party, of which the present mana« gee was one. It was proved by them for a length of 150 ft, the quartz yielding from 7ozs to lOozs per load. As only four men are at present employed, progress is necessarily slow. There are now about 601bs of specimens and picked stone on hand, and crushing will probably be commenced in about a week. I BOCKY POINT. The tribute winze on the Adelaide reef j is down a depth of 20ft, and good colors of gold are seen in the quartz. Colors of gold are also seen in the dirt coming to hand from the stopes being work by the tributers. The south crosscut is being pushed ahead by the company, and is penetrating a nice class of sandstone, favorable, for gold, with mineral veins running through it. GOLD EETUENS. Albubbia. —A crushing of 9 loads of general dirt, and 1501bs of specimens, for Irwin and party, tributers, has yielded the splendid return of 1230zs gold.—Bice and , party have crushed 40lbs specimens and picked stone for 13ozs 16dwts gold. Moanataibi.—Kneebono and party's crushing produced 7ozs 13dwts gold. City of Mab chesteb.—The proprietors of this claim have banked 36ozs ldwt gold. Sib Waiter fc -it (Karangahake).— Tregoweth and party bave crushed 6 tons of general; dirt for tbe good return of llozs 9dwtt gold.
