OUR MINES.

CAMBRIA.

At No. 3 lerel, it is said a considerable improvement has taken place within the past few days ; but be that as it may, there is some excellent mineral in the face. Further back, in the hangingwall, the mineral vein is traceable, and from here 3Olbs specimens were taken yester day. The drive is wide here, for as the reef is very flat," the hangingwall has been cut into considerably for timbering purposes. The mineral vein is very strong in the leading stope. In the intermediate level the vein is looking healthy, and in the face there is a fine show of bright mineral, which should crush well. In the intermediate level westward, the drive is being pushed ahead, with bat little alteration in tbe I appearance of the lode, but in the leading i stope favorable mineral is carrying in, j ! and in one spot is abundant. A rise will be put up from No. 3 level to the inter- ! mediate, to provide an easy means of I getting away quartz. The stopes above No. 2 level present little alteration. No. 1 leader—the stringers lode,—which about half way down tbe winze was cut off by a head, is being stoped upon, and is supplying good crushing dirt. Although ear reporter saw but little gold, the indications in the various places visited were such that the quartz obtained ought to be beyond average quality. THAMES GOLDEN CROWN. A portion of the lode was broken down in the winze to-day. It is very heavily mineralised, and gold was freely distributed throughout the quartz. Sinking tbe shaft is proceeding with all despatch. GOLD RETURNS. Moabtataibi.—Cox and party, tributes in this mine, have banked Slozs gold.
