Owen and Graham's Warehouse

Seriously Damaged.

Damage estimated at £14,000.

Messrs Owen and Graham's wholesale warehouse in Queen street was discovered to be on fire at a quarter to eight o'clock this morning. It originated in the basement of the storey used as a packing department. The flames went up the lift to the fourth storey, which contains silks* fancy goods, &c.—this being completely gutted. The Fire Brigade got the fire under in half an hour, but not before the whole building was completely drenched with water. The insurances on the stock and building amounted to £49,000; and the loss is roughly estimated at £14,000. Later.
