The Nightingale Abandoned at Sea.
CAPTAIN, MATE, AND COOK MISSING. [Reuteb's Telegbams.] Sydney, Yesterday. The schooner Nightingale arrired here to-day from Auckland, waterlogged, in charge of five seamen. The vessel was abandoned 32 miles from Sydney, but these fire seamen, who were together in one boat, returned to the vessel and succeeded in bringing her to port. The captain, boatswain, cook and two passengers, who were in the other boat, are missing as yet. -

The Nightingale, abandoned off Sydney harbor, was owned by D. Gouk, G. Short, and A. W. Sullivan, of Auckland. She left Mercury Bay on March 31, with 200,000 feet of timber, shipped by D. H. Me* Kenzie and Co., for Sydney. The names of the missing men are George Short, master; J. D. Hastings, mate ;C. Hanna* ford, cook and steward. The Captain and mate are married, and the former has a family here. The vessel was uninsured, and the cargo was insured for £500 in a Sydney office.
