!»AVALS TO THE POKE AGAIN.
The 25th' competition for the above coveted trophy took place on Saturday last. There were 25 competitors, which number was small compared with former entries, and they were classed as follows: —13 Navalg, 10 Scottish, 1 Engineer, and 1 Eifle Banger. The day throughout was not the most desirable' for good shooting, still on the whole the scores were, good and close. The entrance, money,' with the belt, on those occasions' is divided into five prizes,' and the whole number were carried off by the Naval*. Saturday last was the 11th time, the Navals have secured the belt, waieh speaks' Volumes for the shooting capabili-, ties of our' Brigade, also for Seaman Parslow's ability as a marksman, this being the second time he'has been to the ' fore for the esteemed prize. ; The r spores made on Saturday were'by no means' the best we 1 have recorded for the belt, stini considering, the weather and the ranges, the scores of Seaman Farslow (82) and P.O. A. Thomas, ex Champion, (80) were not to be discarded. These two scores were closely followed by Seaman Webster with 76, «nd Seamen ■ Cartwright and Johns each with 74.
