The secretary explained that it was by order of the auditors struck off, they having directed him to strike the amount of the sum due from Government, and charge it to the Borough. The Mayer said tbat if the money wai honestly owing by the Government, they would pay it. They would certainly do what was just. Dr Payne reported that during the month of April, eight patients had been admitted, and two had died. The number of out patients treated had been 172.

Mr Mcllhone asked whether it meant 172 persons had been relieved, or that 172 persons had visited the hospital during the month. He thought the number rather large, and was calculated to mislead the public. Surely there were not 172 persons who bad^receired out-door relief. It was explained that the number embraced all those who had visited the hospital. It was resolved that the number of pc-sons relieved be stated in future reports. The report was adopted. THK HOUSE MEDICAL STAFF.' i Drs Huxtable and Callan were re-elec-ted as honorary members of the staff. THE HOUSE COMMITTIB's BEPOBT Recommended payment of salaries £57 2?, aad current accounts £83 6s Id, and added " That in the Hospital everything appears in a clean and satisfactory state except that the inside walls might now be better for cleaning and renovating, in (he same manner as the accident ward a short tiise ago, and as there are a fewer number of patients than usual we recommend-that the work be done at once. The report was adopted. \. SUBSCBIBBBB* LIST.

Mr Mcllhone mored that the secretary, at the next meeting shoild furnish a list of subscribers and the date on which the subscriptions were paid from January Ist to March 3Xst 1880. He said it would not be necessary to gire his reasons for wishing the list made, but he thought they ought all to know who the subscribers were. This was agreed to. HOUSE COMMITTEE. The house committee will consist of Messrs Aitken, Ahier, Osborne, and Mennie for the ensuing mouth; This concluded the business of the meeting. . .
