AUSTRALIAN.

Sydney, December 10. on Ms Trial.

The trial of the bushrangers continued this morning. Scott, the leader, made a splendid address to tbe jury in defence of himself and comrades. The speech displayed wonderful intelligence, Scott analysed the evidence, end appealed to the jury with an amount of effectiveness which caused a considerable sensation in the crowded Court. It is thought unlikely that he will be convicted of having directly murdered Bowen, but only of being an accomplice in causing his death. The fata! shot is alleged to have been fired by Nesbitt, who was killed by the police.
