Fwthw Amendments in the } Property Tax.
Ti.9 Laad Tax optional with, the Governor. Last night the clause in the Property Assessment Bill .relating to the tax on shipping was struck; out, and amendment was made that property be estimated as worth what it would bring at auction. Powers were also given the Governor in Council to 9uspend the operation of the Land Tax Act. Major Atkinson promised that before the Bill was read a third time he would state the amount of the tax proposed to be imposed.
