Secretary: Mr Wiixiak Wtmb. •- „ This Association is promoted witlt' the I object of securing for its member* rVaehold farms in the Waimate Plaint' (or some other suitable locality) on the most favorable terms and conditions, with a view of supplyiag to some extent the great and increasing demand for small holdings for lonitjtde settlement. As soen as the block i» decided upon, and the preliminaries arranged, it will be surveyed into sections of limited area and apportioned, by lot or otherwise, according to ru'ea to be agreed upon at a general meeting of the sub* scribing members of the proposed Association in selections of a minimum-value of One Hundred Pounds (£100) sterling, and _a maximum value of (£400) sterling. The Provisional Directors will ondeavor to induce the Government to grant to members of the Association Buch modifications of the land on deferred-payment clauses of the Land Act, 1877, ns way facilitate occupation by lona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the present provisions of those, clauses. The Pro* visional Directors will also endeavor to_ make provision for ample n serves for religiiui, educational, recreation, and public health purposes, as suggested by the Minister of Lands to Ihe deputation which latelrw«*ed upon the Government with; the.: view of bringing this scheme under their notice and. favorablo consideration. • The payment* are to be computed on s?me well-defined, liberal, and eaeilv-uuderttbod system of deferred paynients, to be made by instalments extending over a period of, say not less than ten (10) years; Bach subscribing member will be required to deposit a sum equal to ten percentum of the total value of the share of land he applies for before his application can be entertained, and a further payment of two percentum per month on said total value until such time as the block to be applied for i» acquired by the Association, and possession can be given to applicants, or until such time as the Association shall make arrangements with the Govern* ment for allotting land to the subscribers, provided always that such monthly pajpaent* of two fercentum do not extend to a further period than six months from date of application. , .■■■■', All monies received are to be paid into the Colonial Bank of Sew Zealand to the Asiociation's account, to be opened in the name of the Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque against such account without the authority and signature of the Treasurer, one of tie Trustees, and three Directors being first obtained. - Agents, or Acting-Directors, for the Association will also be oppoitited in all the centres of population throughout the provincial diitrif tas soon as practicable. As it is of the utmost importance and imperatively necessary that no time should be lost in organising the business of tho Association, the Provisional Directory therefore stipulate that the list of subscribing members should bo finally closed not later" than the 31st Jit r. nary, 1880.
