London, September 26. The soldiery and the Ameer's troops repelled repeated attacks on the palace, but they were powerless to restore order. Yakoob Ehan escaped from Cabul with an escort of cavalry, accompanied by his son Shah and a number of his chiefs, and surrencdered to General Eoberts at Sushi. General itoborts called a council of war to consider the Ameer's statements and to decide upon the further movements of the British troops.
