HOKITIKA.
Friday. Dr Giles held an inquiry this afternoon as to the origin of the fire at Haworth's sawmill on the morning of Good Friday. A verdict that there was no eridence to show how the fire originated was returned.
This day. At the inquest on Hawarth's fire held yesterday, the foreman of the jury applied for expenses, he having been compelled to attend through the action of the Insurance Companies and not of the police. The coroner replied that he had no power to grant expenses.
