RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THIS DAY,
(Before W.Fraser, Esq., 8.M.) OBSTBUCTINO A EOAD.
James Dunn, a little boy, was! charged with unlawfully obstructing a carriage road, to wit, Scaly street, Ttiamof, by placing a rope across the same. Mr Macdonald appeared for the defendant, who pleaded not guilty. Mr Bullen said that the facts of the case were these: A lad named Dceble was delivering goods on horseback for his father. When riding under the water race, in Scaly street, he observed a swinp, in charge of the boy Dunn, hanging from the trestle work of the race. He called to Dunn to pull up the swing, which he did ; and when the lad,: Deeble, was under it he let it go. The rope caught Deeb.'e unfUr the chin, and switched him off tha horse, nearly killing him. This chert g had been brought as a warning to boys not to play such dangerous gumes. Mr Macdonald said that Deeble had been playing with the swing some time previous, and when returning he was also playing with it, and was knocked off the horse by accident. '.■•■■ His Worship cautioned the defendant and dismissed the case. Court adjourned.
