It will be gratifying to shareholders to learn that the improvement in the Som . of Freedom reef, westdrive, at the hot- ,; torn of the No. 1 wince, noticed'in ft , previous report, continue!, and small parcels of golden atone are frequently coming to hand. Whatever the lode may be to the eastward on this level,, it is certainly improving going west. I may mention that the specimen leader in the intermediate lerel continued to. look well* and is giving good ore. Both' faces in west drive, Whau level, show an improvement. The manager has on hand at present SO^ewt. of specimens and . picked stone. The crushing at the;-'. Herald mill is showing up well. An interim retorting took place yesterday. of the amalgam resulting from a portion of the general crushing. The yield of 654fois was obtained. The general crushing will be proceeded with till the end of the month, when the specimen! and picked stone will be crushed. The month's return is expected' to be something about 1600 ounces. '* GOLDEN CUP. Kneebone and party have finished their crushing at the Herald mill for fM the yield of 23ozs. There were 27 tons crushed. BLACK ANGEL.
