Monday. Fatal Occurrence at Kakanui.
A fatal occurrence took place at Kakanui. \ Several men were drinking at a hotel, when ; a dispute arose., Andrew Black attempted to prevent a quarrel between two men, when one of them named McEvoy struck Black. He retaliated, striking McEvoy a heavy blow on; the:! ribs and:killing him instantly. 4islack;f Tbears the character of a quiet, inoflfensiveP man.
