,' The" annual meeting of the Cure .Goldmining Company was held yesterday at the Insurance .Buildings. Mr George Williamson occupied the chair, and read the directors' report as follows:—" The directors again lay before you the usual half-yearly statement of receipts and expenditure. The success which has attended the operations in the mine since the last meeting was held lias enabled them' to declare the two dividends, amounting to 9s per share, which have already beeen paid; and, so far as can be ascertained, the future prospects of the mine are still indeed hopeful. though the expenditure during the halfyear has been heavy, a very large amount of work has been done in prospecting and opening up the mine, while at the same time the strictest watchfulness . and economy have been i studied to keep the, outlay as low as possible. The mine manager s. report, which is now lying on the table for your information, describes fully all ; details, relating to the works in the mine. Directors; recommend that £69 be voted as, an honorarium for ensuing six .months." The mine manager's report was also read,, which, particularly alluded to the improved prospects of the mine by the, discovery .of, a new reef. The balance sheet showed :—• Receipts: Balance from last half-year. £647 3s 6d; proceeds tailings,* £51 2s 6d; 4,0520z 6dwt 12gr gold, proceeds 0£2,958 tons quartz, £11,257 10s 2d; deposit from tnbuters, £5.
