A meeting of the supporters of Mr S.. Stephenson was held last night at the Marine Hotel- The attendance was not large. Mr Otto was called to the chair, and the following resolution, moved by Mr Fugill seconded by Mr Eobson, was carried unanimously:—" That this meeting, having carefully gone over the electoral roll for the district of the Thames, considers that a large portion of the community being working men, miners, and others, holders of miners' rights, are desirous of returning to the General Assembly one who will thoroughly their views and interests, have great pleasure in bringing forward Mr S. Stephenson, as a gentleman well qualified in every respect to aspire to Jthat honor, and hereby pledge themselves to use every exertion to secure his return as their delegate."
