QUARTERLY LICENSING MEETING.

The quarterly licensing meeting of the Commissioners for the Thames and Hauraki Districts was held to-day. There were present, Captain Fraser, Chairman * Messrs Brown, Souter and Workman.

Alexander Hogg applied for a license for the Puriri Inn, Puriri.

Mr Brassey appeared for the applicant and applied for an adjournment, as the house bad not been finished, and therefore could not be reported on.

Adjourned until December 21st, at 10.30.*

NEW APPLICATIONS FOB OttV HOUSES. Phillip Lemprifire applied for a license for the Kuranui Hotel, Tararu Road. /

James Clarkson applied for a license for the Albion hotel, Thames.

This house had been closed for tome time. The police report being favorable the application was granted.

William Barker, transfer of the Glasgow Arms to William Hawk; Mr Dodd appeared for Hawk. It appeared that Hawk had been in temporary possession, and the house being satis* faetorily - conducted* the transfer was granted.

James Clark, transfer of the Eising Sun to Margaret Peckham. The applicant had kept a hotel before in Auckland, and was favourably reported on by the police. , ..
