No transfer of any share or shares of or in the stock of funds of any corporation, company, 1 or society whatever in New Zealand . Bhall be registered, recorded, or entered in the books of such corporation, compaby, or society, unless such transfer is duly stamped. " 103. No instrument of sale or transfer of atiy! share or shares shall be. valid, either at law or in; equity, unless the "anrae of the pur' chaser or transferee is inserted therein at the time of or before the execution of the instru^ ment of sale or transfer .; and, if any person executes a -"ale*note, transfer, contract-note, or other instrument of sale or trausfer, in any , manner, or for' nny purpose whatsoever, un-> Ices the nuino of the purchaser is inserted therein'at tho time or beforethe execution thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less tliins £20 or mora than ; £loo; and, if any,'such instrument is so made or signed,,it shall bs wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall in no case be iiiade ;available iby the insertion of a name or any other particular* afterwards ; and the person soiling or transferring such share shall not bo divested of his : interest therein, but,shall retnuin liable thereon ds if he had nevor sold or disposed of tho same. And if such person is a licensed eharebroker, his license shall, on any conviction under this section, bj absolutely forfeited, and he shall not thereafter be qualified to net 88 h. broker, or to have a fresh license ' issued to him.
