PAEROA.
(feom a coesbspondbnt.)
This day,
There was a well attended meeting of the Sports Committee last night at Cassrell and Bennett's Hotel.
The business traniacted was purely routine, a working committee of seven being appointed, and it was decided that five members should form a quorum. If there had been as much business transacted as there' was talk about it last night it would have been an improvement.
After the close of the meeting these gentlemen of the working committee made a very determined attack upon a certain well-known Grahamstown gentleman with the idea that they would be able to persuade him to give a subscription. They persevered manfully for upwards of half-an-hour, and then had to retire—disappointed. Mr Louis Dihar is very indignant about some remarks that hare appeared in the 'Tizer saying that he was to be proceeded against for horse-stealing.
