Mr DeLias' company played > two pieces, and played them well, at this theatre last night. The first of these, "Lady's Audley's Secr,et," is a play founded on the novel of that name by Miss Braddon,;and though the plot of the piece is of course manifest from the first to all who have read the work, yet the interest was well sustained by the actors throughout The piece went smoothly and .< well, Miss Stephenson playing and dressing the part of the heroine to great advantage. Mr Collier as Robert Aiidley was natural and '• good, and Miss Emma Rogers played very nicely indeed in the part allotted .to her. The details of the play were well worked out, and would have been creditable'to a company; having far more time at their disposal than one which changes a double programme iriight after night, land considering these circumstances cially praiseworthy; more;iparticularly would we mention the scene placed on the stage representing the iMli'des of two separate rooms at one and the same time, which was' as well carried 6ut'ks could be desired. The burlesque, "La Somnambula," was: a great success. Miss Clara Stephenson and—Mr Sam Poole threw themselves heartily into their characters, and were the life and soul of the piece ; Miss Stephenson was in good voice and sang, as she acted, well throughout, and Mr Poole in dance, song, dress and action, was most amusing. Miss Lizzie Morgan sang, well; her first song, "Beauty," was as usual encored, and the now well known song of the " Whip-poor-will substituted." Miss Emma Rogers in this piece also merited praise, and the whole went off exceedingly well. To-night the play of " The Bells" is announced, together with the excellent burlesque of " Lalla Rookh," the latter embracing a very strong cast of characters . *
