Parawai Gardens.

CRICKET.

"We were enabled by pigeongram to give the score of the first innings of Mr Robinson's side yesterday, which it may be remembered was 62. For Mr Lawless' side Messrs Crump and Hewitt tdid;. nearly tha whole of the ywqrk, and scored respectively 41 and 26, a catch afc cover point mastered the former, and the fast bowler got rid of the latter ; the innings terminated for 81, or 19 on. The second innings of Mr Robinson's side was a sorry affair with, the exception of Mr F. Paul, who hit and ran well for his 17, until he ran himself out. The total amount was only 36, leaving Lawless' side but 18 to get to win, which they would doubtless have done had thestumps not been drawn owing to the call of time. H. S. Paul received a severe blow on the mouth when longstopping, but stuck to his post nevertheless, his fielding being very good. SPORTS. Of these, the first three were duly recorded yesterday. Somerton won the Maiden Race—T. ; Groldsworthy being second. Brien, with 60 yards start, won the walking match from "W". Williams, at scratch, and H. Outridge, with seven yards, had little difficulty in scoring a win in the 300 yards handicap. The halfmile was won easily by Thomas, who had. apparently, a good deal left in him at the finish. And a hack race, which finished the sports, fell to Mr Buckley's Fanny by three lengths from Mr Penks' Charlie. The sports all went off very satisfactorily, and the protests were arranged before the prizes were paid over.
