Sporting ELLBBSLIE GARDENS. GREAT PUBLIC HOLIDAY AND ATHLETIC CARNIVAL. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 9th, 1875. THE Proprietor of Ellorslie Gardens announces that on the Prince of Wales' Birthday ho will give Valuable Prizes for Athletic Competitions to come iff in the Gardens on that day. The principal prize will be THE BIRTHDAY CUP, VALUE £50. This will be competed for in three running handicaps of 100 yards, 300 yards, and 880 yards. For running firsb in any of the races 6 points will be allowed, for running Becond 4 points, and for running third 2 points. The Competitor scoring the highest to'al of points in the three races will receive the first prize, £25 in money, and a Valuable Silver Cup presented by Mr Joseph Elxis, Exchange Hotel, Queen street. A second aggregate prize of £8, and a third of £5 will also be given. In addition to the aggregate prizes, first and second prizes of £3 and £1 respectively will be awarded at each distance. Entries, with fee of 10s, and the Competitors' bailing-place and colorß, to be sent to the Secretary and Hanclicappor, Mb A KiNff, care of Mr J. Ellis, Exchange Hotel, on or before Satttbday, 23rd October, at 9 p.m. Any one entering under a false name will be disqualified.
