AUCKLAND.
This day.
Captain Clarke, of the ferry steamer Takapuna, jumped into the water after a boy who had been dragged off the North Shore wharf by a rope thrown over a pile. Both were nearly drowned, but Clarke ultimately managed to reach the wharf safely with his burden.
Arrived: Hawea from the South. Messrs Williams, Dignan and Kelly are passengers.
The Coronet from Taihiti reports news of the schooner Pappua, supposed to be lost.
