AUCKLAND.
This day. At the Police Court James Simp3on was brought up remanded from the Thames charged with obtaining sixty pounds on false pretences. Mr Hesketh, who appeared for the prosecution, said he had no evidence to offer. Discharged. The Supreme Court was occupied with the case Berry v. Brogden and sons, fire hundred pounds damages for alleged breach of contract. A new ferry steanier for the North Shore Company has been successfully launched.
