CURE.

The stopes of No. 5 reef have again furnished proof that this mine is in good condition. Yesterday 801bs A-l" specimens and about 1001 bs picked stone were obtained, while the general character of the stone raised from, the winzes, and from the stopes is quite up tojihe average. The fact of the present findof. rich strne as well as former one, prove that the shots of gold are not perpendicular, but diagonal with the course of the reef, that is, the reef is about north and south, with a dip tothe west; the gold Appears to lie at an angle S.E.. by N.W.; tuis accountH for ?tlieVrepeated changes in the countenance of the?:.mine, aswe!l,as in.the.jappearance of sbArehrf^er^Tlie lodes have all proved gold-bearing, but at times of diminutive size, .and only by the patient energy displayed fin ; the management has this mine obtained itspresentiimpottance. Since the above was, written a further addition has been iiiade to the specimen fund of 12 lbs. of splendid stone, samples of which are now on view at the Union Bank, as well as 50 lbs. second rate.
