MINING COMPANY MEETINGS.
Old Whatt.
At the annual meeting of shareholders held yesterday—Mr Wilkinson in the chair—the direct rs', mining surveyor's, and mmo manager's reports, with financial statement were submitted, read, and adopted. The retiring directors Alessra Unthank and McCaul were elected, and Mr Uelhon re-appointed auditor. From the reports it appears that the prospects of the mine have greatly improved during the past six months, and the discovery of a good sized payable ,reef entering their boundary, probably extending through the length of their property, cannot but have a beneficial effect. The operation* during the past year have been throneli difficulties, but have so far been successful as to reduce the debt considerably, with the expectation that in a short time the management will be able to present the shareholders with a dividend. Resolutions were passed that no part of the mine should be l«t on tribute, but discretionary power given to directors to sell the battery.
