If the Baroness Burdett Coutts, says our (Auckland Star) "London Correspondent," does not mind she will be getting made a Freemason before she knows where she is. There is a lodge named after her in London, and her nephew (I think he is) is master of it. To this lodge she 4^s presetted bible and chairs, and has expressed herself anxious to co-operate with Freemasons as much as possible. It would be rather a joke if the Baroness were to receive some degree (honorary of course, as I could hardly suppose the gridiron business could, under any circumstances, be applied to a lady). Ib would be a " landmark " in the archives of the order, and would be. calculated to charm the heart of Mrs Caudle.

It is some time since we were called upen to record anything in the way of '.' selling off" or " immense reductions in the clothing department. But we -• ay-e now reminded_that Messrs J. Cosgrave and C0.,/are calling a sale of drapery and . clothing at their establishments in Owen and Albertstreets. The stocks in. these establishments embrace £20,000 worth of goods.
