COROMANDEL. Wednesday. Union Beach. —62 lbs specimens to-day taken from the winze; still good ?how in face of winze. Tokatea is crushing 1 at Bennett's battery, and showing up for a payable yield. Quinton's plaim start sending stuff to battery on Friday. About 7 ozs per ton expected.. Bismarck. —Gold still showing well in stopes. City of Auckland. —Leader in low level sending forth good stuff. Over 110 tons good stuff ready for crushing. Last Resort (next Union Beach), mine company, proposed forming to-morrow. Work immediately started. Mr Smith, commission agent, who is charged with giving valueless cheques, arrived to-night; he will be,brought before the Resideut Magistrate to-morrow.
This day. Smith, the commission agent charged with uttering valueless cheques was committed for trial.
