•; Tuesdij. The Four Million Loan Again.* Further correspondence relative to the four million loan has been laid on the, I table. Up to the Bth July the amount ■< received on account - of the loan was £3,507,152. / On the 14th June' Dr Feather^ton writes to Sir J. Vogel as follows :— Sir, —l hare the honor to recommend that the usual honorarium be given to Sir Penrose Juiyan and Mr s argeant, two of the loan agents, for the services render d by them in the negotiation of the last issue of four million pounds four and a half bonds. Sir Julius Vogel replies on 21st June:—Bir,-+-I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt 6£ your letter of the 14th inst., recommending that the honorarium be given to Sir Penroso Juiyan and Mr Sargeant, two of the loan agents, far the services rendered by them in the negotiation of the last issue of four million pounds four and a-half bonds. 2. As you are aware seme differences of opinion have arisen between those gentlemen and myself on certain points connected with the late negotiation, but I recognise that they have had arduous duties in connection with it. 3. I therefore authorise you to make the usual payment.
