This day

The manager of the Freight Company has written to the Borough Council intimating that the Company bare resolved on towing vessels in -ballast for this port free, of charge. The Council decided that all f" tug boats belonging to the port, when towingrin vessels in ballast, will be free of post charges. It is understood that the saw mill proprietors have agreed' to subsidise the Tug Company by £1000 per annum for towage of vessels with ballast inwards and timber outwards.
