. Several milk-vendora were fined from one to five pounds for selling adulterated milk. The proportion of water ranged from eight to forty-five per cent. A Poverty Bay telegram states that the captain of the cutter Whau had arrived at Gisborne. He lost his rudder in the gale and had to beach the vessel.
