General Notices |Cr E W ZKAL AN t . 7 GOVERNMENT LIFE INSUBANCE. I—The Government Life InsurI ance Department issues ail desirable forms of Policies. The Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by the Colony. Parti* cipation in Profits is authorised by th« Legislature to bo given to Policy-holders. 2-premium rates are lower than those of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or- Medical Pees charged. 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their value, under a special regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy is ex« hausted in payment of premiums. 5— Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having paid three full an-, nual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender value of not less than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums j and if for any reason the premiums ere not paid when due, a paidup Policy will be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace we allowed on all Renewal Premiums. 7-^-Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy- —An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, benafide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or ineolvency laws to a certain amount, which increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500; after seven yt-ara, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This ■protection applies pnly in favour of the . personal rej reeentative of the Insured. '9—Married Wbmen may effect Policies, dispose of the money by will, as if single; and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies—Policies effected for the benefit of tho wife and children of the Insured are absolutely pro- ' tected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, providid that the premiums are payable during life, or any period not less than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently mnde by will. 11—Probate, &c., dispensed with ' —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. - 12—Prompt .payment of Claims and no discount charged.
