NELSON.
Saturday. A large meeting was held in the Provincial Hall last night. Proposed—" That this meeting cordially approves of the Government measures re abolition of provinces throughout New Zealand." To which an amendment was proposed— " That in the opinion of this meeting the abolition and local government bill should stand over to be dealt with by the New Parliament." Nine only; voted for the amendment, and the original resolution was carried amid loud cheers. A copy to be forwarded to the Nclsou members.
