NEW EXCHANGE.
This company, which has just started, come into possession of the ground formerly known as the Exchange, consisting of 65 men's ground, in the rear of Grahamstown flat, bounded by well known and profitable holdings held by the Queen of Beauty, City of London, Bright Smile, CrowiT ,Princess, and Prince Imperial/ On the ground there is a portable, engine, with winding gear complete, poppet-head, and # shaft well secured for 200 feet; and numerous drives to near 1000 feet, driven on and intersecting several leaders; but, hitherto on the present level, have not proved sufficiently profitable to pay for crushing in small quantities, ;but would do so if treated in bulk at the lowest cost. The same reefs promise to be richer under foot, as has been the case in adjoining properties; and, from the fact that the face in the lode, as worked up to the boundary from the Crown Princess low level is decidedly an improvement upon the upper level. The greatest portion of the ground has, however, not been prospected, and, oh the eastern and southeastern sides gold-bearing leaders from the City of London and Queen of Beauty are bound to be met with in the Company's prbperty.
