COROMANDEL.
This day, Tokatea.—A few pounds of good stone on Saturday evening; a large parcel expected to-day.
Cabbage Bay.—Gold is showing well in the face of the lode.
Kapanga.—About middling parcel of stuff from the leader now in hand. They are sending several wheels to Auckland to be recast ready for the battery. Mr Goertz, lately appointed to the Kapanga school, has resigned. The wharf has become so delapidated that the coal from the vessels cannot be got along the tramway excepting in small quantities. The National Bank had a narrow escape from fire this morning, through the stovepipe of a shoemaker's contiguous, which became red hot. The place ignited, but fortunately the Manager of the Bank's attention was directed by the servant, when he put the flames out. It was discovered only in time.
