THIS DAY. (Before J. Kilgour and E. W. Puckey, Esqs., J.'sP.) A WANDERING- GOAT. Michael Conroy was charged with allowing a goat to wander at large in BLirkwood street. Defendant pleaded guilty. Mr Bullen stated that he had been obliged formerly to use stringent mea-. sures to stop the mischief caused by goats wandering in the street, and the result had been some abatement of the nuisance ; but he was sorry to say that now it was commencing again, and lie was determined to put it down by every means iu his power. The accused stated that he really did not know that he was possessed of a goat, having been away from home about two years. " The Bench said that as so much damage was done to gardens in the spring by goats being at large, the Resident'Magis- ■ trate and the other justices were determined to aid the efforts of the public. ' Fined half a crown and costs. The Court then rose.
