Warden's Office, Thames, July 29,1875. A PPLICATION lias been made by James jL\- Liddem, for a LICENSE to construct a Water Bace for mining purposes, commencing at a point on the fourth branch of the Tairua River, indicated by a peg marked L, about i four hundred feet above the southern boundary of the Consolation Claim, and terminating at a poinr, denoted by a peg marked L, about two hundred feet below the northern boundary of the said claim. The length of such Bace is four hundred yards or thereabouts, and its intended course is north and south. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is six feet by four feet, and it is capable of carrying fivo sluicr-heads of wnter. The number of plaice-heads of forty, inches eachwhich it is proposed to app'Opriate i« five, and the laud required for such Race is sixtysix feet on each eide of the centre oi the said Bace. ; NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 7th day of September, 1875, a License may be granted to the said Jambs Liddell, for the ( above-described Water Race, unless valid objection be in the meantime made in writing and lodged at this office not less than seven clear days before that date. J\ Walter Sumy for a lICENSE to construct a Water Race for mining purposes, commencing at a point indicated by a peg marked X, about three hundred end fifty yards above Rule Britannia whare, and terminating at a point one hundred yards below junction of Rule Britannia Creek -with fourth loft hand creek of fourth branch of Tairua River. The length of suck Race is a mile and a half or thereabouts, and its intended course is east by north. Tho mean breadth and depth of such Race is two feet six inches by fifteen incKes, and it is capable of carrying three sluice-heads of water. The number of sluice-heade of forty inches each which it is intended to appropriate is three, and the land required for euch Race is sixtysix feet on each tide of the centre of the said Race.
